News : KOREAN COACH TO TRAIN UP T.T. PLAYERS
The Table Tennis Federation Of India has arranged for a Korean Coach to train the U.P. Table Tennis Players on the request of U.P. Table Tennis Association. Coach from DPR Korea Jong Son An will impart training to about 30 promising and up coming players of the state. The coaching camp will be held from 19th May to 10th June, 2014 at Eklavya Stadium, Table Tennis Complex, Agra with the help of Sports Directorate, Govt. Of U.P. Vijay Singh, NIS Table Tennis coach of State Govt. and Saurav Poddar current State Champion and U.P. No. 1 will assist the Korean Coach. It is hoped that this coaching camp will be highly beneficial for promising and upcoming players of the state.We are hopeful to see state paddlers doing well at the National Championships in future after the Camp. The UPTTA is committed to produce players of International repute, for which no stones will be left unturned.
The entire cost of the coaching camp will be borne by the U.P. Table Tennis Association which will be around 3.00 lac. (Rupees Three lacs only).
The UP Table Tennis Association had conducted a Special Coaching camp for the first time for 20 odd Sub Junior and Junior paddlers at Agra from 7 – 27 June, 2012 under the watchful guidance of DPR Korea Coach Ri To Yong. Within seven months’ time, the efforts reaped a rich harvest as UP paddlers won the Bronze medals in the Sub Junior National Championships at Gandhidham in January and 5 players got India Ranking in Sub Juniors category.
The UP Table Tennis Association had again organised a Special Coaching camp last year for 26 promising and up coming players of the state under the watchful guidance of DPR Korea Coach Jong Son An at Eklavya Stadium, Table Tennis Complex, Agra from 1st to 15th July, 2013 with the help of Sports Directorate, Govt. Of U.P. The efforts again reaped a rich harvest as UP paddlers won Bronze medals in the Sub Junior
Boys team Championships in the 75th Sub Junior National Championships held at Ajmer from 24 – 29 December, 2013, the State Sub Junior Boys team was represented by Sartha Seth, Hardik Paliwal, Sharthak Sharma and Subhankar Yadav. Saundarya Pathak has also won the Bronze Medal in Sub Junior Girls Singles in the same National Championships. Varun Gupta and Abhinav Belwal won the Bronze Medal in the Boy’s doubles event in the 75th Youth & Junior National Championships held at Guwahati from 15-20 January, 2014
